LOOKOUT CHRISTIAN STANDARD: HERE WE COME!

So far our second term has been rather inactive as far as doing traveling evangelistic work is concerned. Our lack of transportation has made this ministry very difficult. Yet the time has not been wasted. We have used these months to expand the scope and reach of our efforts. In this last month we have continued this effort with a new periodical entitled El Precurso de Restauracion. While it does not yet challenge the Standard in size, format or hardly anything else for that matter; it does fill a very definite need.
As the number and geographical location of New Testament congregations here in Colombia increases, a periodical is needed to promote the ideals of simple New Testament Christianity. The idea has been brought up before but no one has been able to devote the time to this project. Our first issue includes an article on First Century Evangelism, New of the Brethren, Announcements, etc. Our plans for the immediate future include Sunday School lessons for the adult class, more doctrinal articles and practical helps in evangelism and teaching.
At the present time our format is about as rustic as you can get. The paper is one legal size sheet of paper with printing on both sides. It was produced in a mimeograph machine. We plan on improving the quality and presentation of the publication as time goes on. But it will continue to be mimeographed as long as that is practical.
This also allows us to get double service out of our equipment by using it on a more regular basis. It has created a great deal of enthusiasm and interest on the part of the Colombian brethren. So with this humble beginning we are looking for additional ways to aid the Colombian churches in the effort to extend the restoration ideals. So with an optimistic outlook on the future, we say lookout Christian Standard, here we come!

A WORD FROM WENDY

I'm going to draw a picture of Susy for you

Hi there! My mommy and daddy are going to let me write this month. I really like living here in Colombia. I am learning to speak Spanish. It’s so much fun to speak another language. I try to talk Spanish to my mommy and daddy but they won't let me. I have to speak English in the house. But, you know, I'd like to speak Spanish all of the time.
I know so many people. They all like my red hair and freckles. I go to my friends houses and play and they give me candy and chewing gum. But my mommy doesn't like that because I won't eat my supper.
My sister, Susy, is going to be two in July. (I'm four!) She doesn't talk good like me. She just says words. But we have lots of fun playing. We like to play in the water.
We help mommy do her housework. We clean up our room. Mommy bought us brooms to help her sweep. I help mommy clean up the table after we eat but Susy is too little.
On Sunday mornings we got to Sunday School. I really like Sunday School. I like to sing those little songs like "Alabare and Mi Senor" and "Somos soldaditos."
You know, I like to get letters. Some little kids at Wilmington, Ohio sent me a letter with pictures. I was so excited! I liked that! Will you write me too? My address is:
