SOUR GRAPES?

Jeanie and I have been forced to delay our departure. This will mean missing the Summer World Institute of Missions. It is with regret that we make this announcement. We must have $550 in regular monthly support before we can leave. This amount leaves no room for added expenses. It is the bare minimum. We now have only $414.
To our supporting churches we say that this delay was not our doing. We hope that this doesn't discourage you or cause you to doubt out intentions. We thank you for you continued efforts to the cause of spreading the Gospel beyond the confines of your physical vision.
To you who have not yet had us in your fellowship we again ask permission to come. We have May 6, June 17, July 1, 8, and 22 open. We would be happy to come and share the challenge of Colombia with you. You can contact us through our forwarding agent.
To the churches where we have spoken and not received any pledged support, we would ask you to reconsider. Perhaps your budget isn't as tight as it seems. When God's people decide to do something constructive, God doesn't let them down. Our needs are not that far out of sight. Fifteen individuals giving $10 monthly a piece could assure us of leaving in time for language school.
No, the grapes weren't sour. We are still trying. Through God's grace, and your help, we'll become one more herald to preach the Good News in Colombia. D.R.M.

V.B.S

As soon as word leaked out that we would not be able to leave on time, a number of people requested us for their Vacation Bible Schools. The first week in June we will be at Washington Court House, Ohio. For the second week we move to East Canton, Ohio. The third week will find us at Rittman, Ohio. Then we wrap up June in Binghamton, New York.
Two of these weeks we are at supporting churches, the other two we have never been to. We are looking forward to a busy month, filled with fellowship and encouraging young people in world wide outreach. D.R.M.

We would also like to thank every individual and congregation that has given to help with our one time expenses. These gifts have really helped with our one time expenses. These gifts have really helped boost our reserve fund which will be use for the move to the field.
We have recently ordered a ham radio that we shall use to keep in contact with our supporting churches. The cost will be $482. If your church or class would like a project, we would appreciate your help with this valuable and versatile asset.
